Photo to collage poster

Continues a photo into a 3:4 poster: the photo above, a paper collage below.

Turn a photo into a half-photo, half-collage poster

The collage poster tool keeps your photo as the upper half of a vertical 3:4 poster and continues it downward into a second world on ivory paper. One line in the picture, such as a road, a river, a branch, a beam of light or a raised arm, crosses a flat torn-paper edge and changes its rules on the other side, drawn with cut paper, photo fragments and a few black hand-drawn lines. A short handwritten caption can finish the page, giving one photo the look of an independent magazine spread.

How the second world continues the photo

The tool first finds a structure in the photo that reaches the middle of the frame, such as a path, a shoreline, a railing, a ray of light or a gesture. That structure meets the torn edge exactly and carries on into the lower half, where it becomes something that can be touched, walked on, pulled or used. There is one interaction per poster, chosen for this photo, so the two halves read as one continuous scene rather than a picture with an illustration placed underneath.

The tear lies flat on the page, without shadows or curled edges, and its shape follows the structure it crosses. Tiny line-drawn figures appear only when the story needs them, and never when the photo already shows a strong human action.

The upper half stays your photo

People, clothing, objects, the setting, the composition, the light and the colours of the photo are kept. To fit the 3:4 frame, the tool may only crop slightly, extend the background a little or grade the colour very lightly; it does not repaint, rearrange or stretch the photo. Because the poster is generated, compare faces and small details with your original before you share it.

Photos that work best

Photos with a clear line running towards the middle give the strongest result: roads, rivers, bridges, stairs, branches, beams of light, architecture or an outstretched hand. A plain background with one subject also works, because the tool continues the subject's outline and mood. Crowded scenes with many small people leave less room for a single clear interaction.

Uses for a collage poster

  • Portrait posts for social feeds

The 3:4 frame fills a vertical feed, and the half-photo, half-paper layout stands out from ordinary filtered photos in a grid of posts.

  • Travel and everyday photos

A street, a coastline or a walk in the park becomes the start of a small illustrated story that grows out of the place itself.

  • Prints, cards and zines

The airy paper layout suits a printed poster, a greeting card, a journal page or a self-published zine.

How to make a collage poster from a photo

  1. Upload a photo

Use a JPG, PNG or WebP image. A photo with a road, water, a branch, light or a clear gesture near the middle gives the second world a natural starting point.

  2. Set the caption and resolution

The handwritten English caption is on by default and can be turned off for a poster without text. Match photo is selected first; 1K, 2K or 4K can be selected instead.

  3. Describe the lower half if you wish

Write what the second world should become, for example a river that turns into a ribbon. If the box is left empty, the tool chooses the interaction that fits the photo.

  4. Generate and download

Check the credits on the button, generate the poster, then download it from the result or find it again in History.

How credits work for collage posters

Each poster is one high-quality AI generation, priced by the selected resolution, with one price per image.

Before you click, the Generate button shows how many credits this run costs. Automatic settings are priced at the most expensive possible tier. A successful generation is charged exactly the quoted credits. Failures caused by us or blocked by our content checks cost nothing. If the generation service does not charge for a failure, neither do we. If it does, you pay for the actual usage, capped at the quote, and the record shows the charge.

If a poster cannot be made, the result area gives the reason and states whether any credits were used; failures on our side and requests stopped by our content check are not charged.

The collage poster tool is one of the AI tools that every credit pack unlocks, and it stays available for as long as your paid credits are valid.

Frequently asked questions

Need more information? Email us at support@alreadyran.com.

What does the finished poster look like?

A single vertical 3:4 image. The top half is your photo, the bottom half is warm ivory paper with cut-paper shapes, photo fragments and a few black hand-drawn lines, and the two halves are joined by a flat torn-paper edge that one structure from the photo runs across.

Will my photo be changed?

The tool is instructed to keep the people, objects, composition, light and colours of the photo, and only to crop slightly, extend the background a little or adjust the colour very lightly so that it fills the upper half. The result is generated, so check faces and fine details before you publish it.

Can I turn off the handwritten caption?

Yes. The caption is a short line in English, written to match the interaction in the poster. Turn off Handwritten caption to get a poster with no text at all. Because the lettering is generated, check its spelling before you share the poster.

Can I decide what the lower half becomes?

Yes. Describe your idea in the optional box, such as stairs that lead into a drawn city. The tool follows it as long as the upper half stays your photo and the scene still continues across the edge.

What size is the poster?

Every poster is vertical 3:4. Match photo uses the smallest of 1K, 2K and 4K that holds as many pixels as your photo; 1K, 2K or 4K can be selected instead, and the credits on the button change with the resolution.

Can I make several versions of the same photo?

Yes. Each generation chooses its own interaction, so generating again gives a different second world. Each version is charged separately and all of them stay in History.

Can I use photos of other people?

Only upload photos you have the right to use, and respect the people in them. You are responsible for what you upload and share.
